Fatal crash on Smithtown Road takes life of Morgantown woman
A tragic accident occurred in Monongalia County on Tuesday, resulting in the death of Marlena Dawn Sloan, a 44-year-old resident of Morgantown. The collision involved Sloan's sedan crossing the center line on Smithtown Road and colliding with a box truck around 4:25 p.m. Sloan was pronounced dead at the scene, while the two individuals in the box truck were unharmed. The incident, near 235 Smithtown Road, is currently being investigated by local emergency services, fire units, and the West Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team.
