Two individuals lost their lives in a collision that occurred on Route 125 in Barrington on Wednesday afternoon. The victims, a 25-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man, were fatally injured in the incident. According to Barrington Police, the crash happened when a car attempting to make a left turn was struck from behind by another vehicle at the intersection of Route 125 and Newtown Plains Road at around 1 p.m. As a result, the first car was pushed into the northbound lane where it was subsequently hit by a commercial vehicle. An elderly 83-year-old female driver sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The identities of the deceased individuals have not been disclosed, but authorities mentioned that they resided in Barrington. While part of Route 125 in the vicinity of the accident site was temporarily shut down for hours, it has since been reopened. The investigation into the tragic incident is ongoing.
