Fatal crash on Near West Side in Chicago, police report
A fatal accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning on the Near West Side of the city. The incident took place on W. Congress Parkway in the neighborhood of Little Italy, as reported by the Chicago Police Department. The crash involved a dark-colored Lincoln sedan being driven by a 24-year-old woman whose identity is currently unknown. The vehicle was heading eastbound when it struck a median. The driver was subsequently transported to Stroger Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Further information is not yet provided by the police, who have delegated the investigation to the Major Accidents Investigation Unit.
