Fatal crash on Interstate 85 injures nine others
A fatal accident occurred on Interstate 85 in Anderson County, S.C. early Saturday morning, resulting in one death and injuries to nine others. The crash involved four vehicles at mile marker 37 around 2:30 a.m. According to the Anderson County Coroner's Office, 23-year-old Ellison Flores-Hernandez died in the accident as a passenger in a car traveling south on I-85 that lost control and crashed. Flores-Hernandez was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. The other injured individuals were treated at the scene and taken to Prisma Health Greenville. Interstate 85 remains closed near mile marker 37 for further investigation and cleanup. Updates on this incident will be provided as they are available.
