Fatal crash on I-90 near Hardin
A tragic accident occurred near Hardin on Interstate 90, resulting in the death of one man and injuries to two women. The crash, which took place in the eastbound lanes at mile marker 488 around 8 p.m. on Monday, was caused when the 57-year-old driver of an Oldsmobile 88 fell asleep at the wheel. Despite attempts by a passenger to wake him up, the driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the highway, and then rolled multiple times after overcorrecting. Unfortunately, the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained fatal injuries. The two female passengers, ages 49 and 23, from Crow Agency and Hardin respectively, were injured but were wearing seat belts and were taken to a hospital for treatment. The Montana Highway Patrol's report suggests that drugs may have played a role in the crash.
