Fatal crash on I-4 near World Center Drive leaves one dead, officials report
The Florida Highway Patrol is currently examining a fatal crash that took place early on Monday morning involving two vehicles on eastbound I-4 near World Center Drive. Troopers were called to the scene at 3:06 a.m. Officials stated that the individual operating a 2013 Hyundai Elantra was driving eastbound towards mile marker 67. The driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road to the left, and collided with the guardrail. It is believed that the Hyundai then re-entered the eastbound lanes and collided with a 2015 Kia Sedona, resulting in the death of the Hyundai driver, an adult male. The identity of the deceased is pending confirmation by the Medical Examiner's Office. The driver of the Kia Sedona sustained minor injuries and was taken to Dr. Phillips Hospital. The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash, with additional information to be shared as it becomes accessible.
