Fatal crash near Batavia Township leaves one dead and three seriously injured.

One man has passed away and three others are hospitalized with severe injuries following a collision involving four vehicles on Thursday evening, as reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The incident occurred on State Route 32 near Batavia Township at approximately 6:18 p.m. that day, according to OSHP. The authorities have determined that 63-year-old Scott Temple was driving a 2004 Ford Ranger in the westbound lane of SR-32 when he veered off the road to the left, crossed the median, and entered the eastbound traffic. Temple's vehicle was struck by a 2018 Chevy Silverado upon entering the eastbound lanes; subsequently, the Silverado collided with a 2014 Honda Odyssey. When the Silverado came to a stop, it was hit by a 2000 Honda Accord. Temple was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by OSHP. The occupants of the Silverado, the driver and a passenger, sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital, although their conditions were reported as non-life-threatening. The driver of the Honda Accord also suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized, with injuries not considered life-threatening by OSHP. The driver of the Honda Odyssey was unharmed in the incident. OSHP stated that the crash is currently under investigation and did not disclose any details regarding the possible cause of the collision.
