Fatal crash in Wichita results in one teen's death, another wounded
A tragic accident occurred in Wichita on Saturday that resulted in the death of a teenage girl. The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. on Interstate 135 at Kellogg. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Equinox was traveling northbound on I-135 when it veered off the road and collided with a bridge pillar for reasons yet unknown. The vehicle was occupied by two teenagers - a 16-year-old male driver and a 14-year-old female passenger. The male driver was taken to a nearby hospital with possible serious injuries, while the female passenger, identified as Belayna Garlen Amaya, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
