
Fatal crash in eastern Michigan leads to numerous casualties; suspect in custody
A fatal accident occurred in Ellington Township, Michigan, on Friday night resulting in the death of three individuals and hospitalization of seven others. The Tuscola County Sheriff's Office reported that a collision involving a semitruck and a Jeep took place around 9 p.m. on Deckerville Road near Hurds Corner Road. The semitruck, driven by a 55-year-old man from Florida, failed to stop at a stop sign, crashing into the Jeep carrying eight people. Tragically, three individuals died at the scene, with the remaining five occupants transported to the hospital. Some of the Jeep passengers are in critical condition as per Saturday morning's update. The semitruck driver and a female passenger sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital prior to the driver's arrest. Charges against him are pending, while the identities of those involved have not yet been disclosed. The incident is currently under investigation by the sheriff's office.
