Fatal crash in Apopka leaves three teenagers dead, others injured
The Florida Highway Patrol is looking into a tragic early morning accident in Apopka that resulted in the deaths of three teenagers and left three others seriously injured. The incident occurred at 1:37 a.m. on Welch Road near Wekiwa Drive, where a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado carrying a group of teens veered off the road, struck a tree, and flipped over. While the 17-year-old driver and two passengers sustained serious injuries, they are expected to recover. Sadly, one passenger passed away at AdventHealth Apopka, and two others were pronounced dead at the crash site. FHP is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
