Fatal Crash Claims Two Teenagers in New Bedford
The District Attorney's Office confirmed that two teenagers tragically lost their lives in a car crash that occurred in New Bedford early Saturday morning. Massachusetts State Police received a report at around 2 a.m. about a single-car crash on Route 140 South at mile marker 2.1. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered two individuals who had been ejected from the vehicle. A 17-year-old boy from West Yarmouth was declared deceased at the scene, while a 15-year-old girl was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to her injuries. The 18-year-old driver from Dartmouth sustained non-life threatening injuries and received medical treatment. New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell expressed condolences to the families and friends of the young victims, acknowledging the heartbreaking nature of the incident.
