Fatal crash claims cyclist on Peninsula highway
A tragic collision occurred Friday at the intersection of Highway 35 and Highway 84 in Woodside, also known as “Four Corners,” resulting in the death of a cyclist following a crash with a pickup truck. The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. Emergency medical aid was administered by paramedics on-site, and the cyclist was airlifted to Stanford Medical Center in critical condition but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. The Major Accident Investigation Team from San Mateo County is actively looking into the crash, while the driver of the pickup truck, who cooperated with authorities, remained at the scene. Sheriff Christina Corpus extended sincere sympathies to the cyclist’s family and emphasized the value of road safety and mutual respect among all road users.
