Fatal crash caused by speeding Scion: LAPD

A fatal collision occurred in the San Fernando Valley during the late hours, involving a speeding Scion and an oncoming car, resulting in one fatality, as confirmed by the police. The crash happened at Saticoy Street and Kester Avenue in Van Nuys around 12:45 a.m. The speeding Scion was headed north on Kester Avenue when it crashed into a Prius going the opposite way. Following the impact, both vehicles sustained significant damage and came to a halt on Saticoy Street, with debris strewn across the road. The driver of the Prius was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, while the Scion's driver was taken to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries. The influence of drugs or alcohol on the incident was not immediately reported. For investigative purposes, the intersection was scheduled to remain closed.
