Fatal crash between cyclist and semitruck in Alcoa
A collision involving a cyclist and a semitruck on East Hunt Road in Alcoa, Tenn., resulted in the death of the cyclist on Tuesday morning. Alcoa Police Department, along with first responders, arrived at the scene on North Wright Road after receiving the call at 7:54 a.m. The cyclist was initially taken to UT Medical Center with serious injuries, but unfortunately, passed away before 4 p.m. The driver of the 18-wheeler was unharmed in the incident. Authorities are investigating the crash and urge drivers to seek alternate routes as they continue to work at the scene. Further updates will be shared as more details emerge.
