The Montana Highway Patrol reported that the events unfolded when troopers attempted to stop a suspected DUI vehicle just after 11 p.m. After initially stopping and a passenger exiting the vehicle, the driver, a 52-year-old man, fled the scene, leading troopers on a pursuit south on Lake Helena Drive. Unfortunately, the chase ended in a fatal crash as the vehicle failed to navigate an intersection, crashing into a house and injuring two people inside. Officials have not disclosed the names of those involved in the incident. The Lewis & Clark County Sheriff’s Office is collaborating on the investigation, with potential charges pending the outcome.
