Fatal collision with tree on Hwy 99 in Madera County claims life of Atwater resident, according to CHP
A 65-year-old man from Atwater tragically lost his life in a collision with a tree on Highway 99 in Madera County, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. near the junction of Highway 99 and Highway 152. The driver, in a silver Toyota Camry, was headed north on Highway 99 when he suddenly veered off the road into the median and collided with a tree, resulting in his death. A 52-year-old female passenger from Atwater sustained minor injuries in the accident. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time it occurred.
