Fatal collision in northwest Springfield claims pedestrian's life
Springfield, Mo. - A tragic incident occurred on Friday, Oct. 3, which resulted in the loss of a pedestrian's life due to injuries sustained in a collision at West Bypass and Kearney Street. The Springfield Police Department reported that a 44-year-old man, Andrew Herr, was struck by a 2016 Chevy Cruze driven by Aubrey Rodriguez, 38, as he was walking northbound on West Bypass. Despite being rushed to the hospital with severe injuries, Herr succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, Oct. 8. The authorities are actively investigating the incident and urge anyone with information to come forward. Additionally, the family of the deceased has been informed of the unfortunate event. This marks the 18th fatal motor vehicle accident in Springfield.
