Fatal collision in Missoula County caused by driver going in the wrong direction

Tragic news emerged from Great Falls as a head-on vehicle collision on Interstate 90 in Missoula resulted in the deaths of two individuals on Saturday, September 13, 2025. The incident took place around 10:35 p.m. when a Hyundai Veloster traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes collided with a Mazda 6 heading westbound near mile marker 99. The Hyundai driver, a 23-year-old man from Florence, and the Mazda driver, a 26-year-old woman from Arlee, both lost their lives in the crash, as confirmed by the Montana Highway Patrol. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed, and they were the sole occupants of their vehicles. The Montana Highway Patrol report indicates that the Florence man was not wearing a seatbelt, whereas the Arlee woman had her seatbelt on. The authorities suspect that alcohol played a role in the tragic incident.
