Fatal car crashes and critical pedestrian injuries in a series of overnight incidents.

Last night in Honolulu, a tragic motor vehicle accident led to Oahu's 62nd traffic fatality of 2025. In a separate incident, a pedestrian was left critically injured. The fatal collision took place around 8:16 p.m. in Waimanalo, involving a 30-year-old male driving a utility task vehicle that ran a stop sign and collided with a 74-year-old motorist. Sadly, the 30-year-old driver passed away from his injuries, while the older driver was in serious condition. Additionally, a pedestrian on the H-1 East Freeway in Kalihi slipped off a guard rail and was struck by multiple vehicles. The pedestrian, a 25-year-old male, was initially in serious condition but later listed as critical. Both drivers involved in this incident were unharmed. Investigations for both incidents are ongoing, with authorities yet to determine if speed, drugs, or alcohol were factors.
