Fatal car crash on Highway 278 causes 1 death, 1 injury.
A crash occurred in Beaufort County that resulted in injuries to one person and the loss of another. The incident, reported by the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), happened at the junction of Hwy 278 and Sun City Boulevard in Okatie. A 2014 Nissan Sentra traveling West on the highway collided with a 2015 Acura heading East. Both vehicles were taken to the hospital for treatment after the collision at the intersection. Unfortunately, the person in the Nissan vehicle succumbed to their injuries. The identity of the deceased individual has not been disclosed by authorities.
