Fatal car crash in Scriba results in one fatality and child rescued.
In the Town of Scriba, a tragic car accident on July 4 resulted in the loss of one life and the heroic rescue of a child. The Oswego County Sheriff's Office was called to Lakeview Road just before 6:30 p.m. in response to a single-car crash involving a 2017 Dodge Durango. The driver, identified as Gerald Burke of Oswego, lost control of the vehicle which then collided with a tree and caught fire. Sadly, Burke was pronounced deceased at the scene. Thankfully, a child who was also in the car was saved by nearby Good Samaritans and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities are currently investigating the details of the accident.
