Fatal Car Crash in La Riviera, Sacramento County; Driver Killed, 2 Passengers Injured
A fatal accident occurred in the La Riviera area of Sacramento County on Thursday afternoon. The driver of a Hyundai Tucson was killed, and two passengers sustained serious injuries following a collision with a tree. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on La Riviera Drive, east of Watt Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver was traveling at a high speed when the vehicle veered off the road, hitting a tree. The car flipped over in a nearby parking lot and crashed into a metal fence before coming to a stop in front of the River's Edge Cafe. The driver passed away at the scene, and the passengers, a man and a woman, were hospitalized. Authorities have not disclosed their identities, and an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
