Fatal car crash claims lives of elderly couple in Geneva, Illinois
A tragic car accident occurred on Friday afternoon in Chicago's far western suburbs, resulting in the death of an elderly couple in their 80s. The incident took place around 1:40 p.m. when a 2020 BMW X3 collided with a 2005 Toyota Corolla as the Toyota attempted to make a turn onto Bircher Road from Fisher Drive. The elderly couple from Geneva, who were in the Toyota, lost their lives in the crash. The BMW veered off the road and caught fire, but the blaze was swiftly extinguished by firefighters. The driver of the BMW, an 18-year-old man, and his passengers were treated at the scene, with one passenger being taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital. Investigations into the accident were ongoing, with no charges filed as of Friday night.
