Fatal Aiken County Crash: 20-Year-Old Killed, Two Others in Critical Condition
On Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m., the Aiken County Coroner’s Office was called to a collision between a Nissan Altima and a Chevrolet Duramax truck at the intersection of Atomic Road and Silver Bluff Road around 6:10 p.m. The accident occurred as the Nissan tried to turn onto Atomic Road from Silver Bluff Road. Tragically, one of the passengers in the Nissan, 20-year-old Landis Garrett of Holly Hill, S.C., passed away at the scene from blunt force injuries. The driver and another passenger from the Nissan were taken to the hospital in critical condition, while the truck driver did not sustain any serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
