Fatal accident: Public works truck hits 9-year-old in crosswalk
Authorities in northwestern Minnesota are currently investigating a tragic incident where a young boy was fatally hit by a city truck driver in Moorhead. The crash occurred around 11:44 a.m. at the intersection of 40th Street and 14th Street. According to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol, a 64-year-old man from West Fargo, North Dakota, was driving a 2018 Mack 700 Straight Truck northbound on 14th Street when it struck the 9-year-old boy in the crosswalk at 40th Avenue. The truck involved was a public works vehicle, and fortunately, the driver was unharmed. Unfortunately, the boy lost his life at the scene. Authorities have determined that alcohol was not a contributing factor in the accident.
