Fatal accident on Route 119 in Rindge.
An investigation is underway by Rindge police into a tragic collision that occurred on Wednesday around 9:15 p.m. along Route 119. The incident involved a Ford Fiesta driven by Richard Pezzolesi, 52, from Winchendon, Massachusetts, making a turn onto Old Ashburnham Road that led to a head-on impact with a Jeep Compass driven by Robert Adams, 24, from Ashburnham. Tragically, Pezzolesi lost his life in the collision and Adams sustained serious injuries but is expected to recover. Emergency responders, including Rindge firefighters and a helpful bystander, swiftly put out a subsequent fire. A plea has been made by authorities for the third driver who passed through the debris and caused damage to their vehicle to come forward. Following the incident, a portion of Route 119 was closed for approximately four hours.
