Fatal accident on Harlingen highway
The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently investigating a tragic two-vehicle collision on the expressway near the Bass Blvd. exit in Harlingen. The incident, which occurred at around 5:10 p.m., resulted in a fatality. The victim, identified as a man, lost his life in the crash. Emergency services, including the Harlingen Police Department, responded to the scene to manage traffic. Reports from our ValleyCentral team at the location observed two body bags. Traffic congestion extended to the Harlingen interchange, with vehicles being redirected to Stuart Place Road. Entrance ramps were temporarily closed. The Westbound expressway at FM 800 has now reopened. Authorities stress that the investigation is still ongoing.
