Tragic Accident Claims Life of Pedestrian on Foothill Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga Last Friday night, a pedestrian lost their life in a collision on Foothill Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga, as reported by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Department. The incident occurred at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 15, when deputies received reports of a car striking a pedestrian on Foothill Boulevard near the southbound I-15 on-ramp. According to investigators, a Ford Flex driven by Michael Burnelle, 59, of El Monte, traveling westbound, hit a man who was in the roadway. The pedestrian, estimated to be between 20 and 30 years old, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Their identity is being withheld until their next of kin is notified. After the collision, Burnelle's vehicle was disabled, and he promptly alerted a deputy in the area about the incident. Deputies D. Johnson and A. Villalobos from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team are leading the inquiry, which will be passed on to the District Attorney’s Office for examination.
