Fatal accident involving SUV on I-75 in Hillsborough County.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported a tragic incident early Thursday in Hillsborough County, where a woman was struck and fatally injured by an SUV after exiting her disabled vehicle along I-75. The collision occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the southbound side of I-75 north of Big Bend Rd. in Riverview. Sadly, the 27-year-old woman from Riverview was standing by her stalled Nissan Altima when she walked into the path of a Kia Sportage, leading to her immediate death. While several southbound lanes were temporarily shut down, they were all reopened by 6 a.m. Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the deceased victim.
