Fatal accident in Vermilion involving woman ejected from vehicle
A 34-year-old woman named Sarah Gehringer from Wakeman, Ohio tragically lost her life early Sunday morning in Vermilion after crashing a truck. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred on Darrow Road, just east of Furnace Street at around 12:15 AM. Gehringer was driving a Dodge Dakota and was traveling too fast while exiting a curve, causing her to lose control of the vehicle. The truck veered off the left side of the road, colliding with a utility pole and two trees, resulting in Gehringer being ejected from the truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and it was noted that she was not wearing a seatbelt. Authorities suspect that drugs and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the crash, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
