Family fears Lake County crash may leave boy unable to walk
A six-year-old boy named Nickai Mixon is currently recovering at Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando after sustaining serious injuries in a car accident in Lake County. Nickai suffered a fractured spine and temporary paralysis in his legs as a result of the crash, which occurred when a teenage driver attempted an illegal pass on State Road 33. Tragically, the two teenagers in the car attempting the pass lost their lives in the collision. Despite the challenges he faces, Nickai's father, Michael Mixon, described his son as a brave fighter and expressed gratitude for his survival. Since the accident, the Mixon family has been leaning on their faith and taking things one day at a time. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Nickai's recovery journey.
