Ex-Sheriff's Deputy Accused of Manslaughter in Deadly Southern Utah Collision
A former Washington County sheriff's deputy is facing a criminal charge in connection to a deadly collision that occurred last November. Silafia Clyde Brown, 49, has been charged with manslaughter, a second-degree felony. Brown was responding to an accident in a marked patrol car when he collided with a motorcyclist, resulting in the death of Daniel Jack Monfore. The incident prompted an officer-involved critical incident protocol and an external investigation, leading to Brown no longer being employed by the sheriff's office.
