Elderly man rescued following lawnmower mishap in Jones County
In Jones County, an elderly man was rescued after being pinned under a lawn mower that had overturned in a drainage ditch. The incident occurred on Gus Townsend Road near Sharon Road on September 10, 2025. A passerby found the accident and alerted authorities, who were able to lift the lawn mower off the man using a tow truck's winch cable. The injured man was taken to South Central Regional Medical Center for treatment of several injuries. The victim reported that he had been trapped beneath the lawn mower for about an hour and a half.
