Eight people killed in recent San Diego accidents
In recent weeks, the San Diego Medical Examiner's Office has identified several individuals who tragically lost their lives in various car accidents in the San Diego area. One case involved 61-year-old Celeste Necochea, who was found deceased on the side of the road 12 hours after a hit-and-run crash. The office also identified Curtis Van Atta Jr., 49, of Santee, who died in a collision with other vehicles and a pole on September 1. Additionally, Alfredo Trevino, 46, of Vista, passed away in a motorcycle accident on September 4, and Javier Oceguera Jr., 38, lost his life in a car crash on August 29. Maria Mercado Alvarez, 62, was identified as the pedestrian killed by multiple vehicles in San Diego on August 24. Lastly, Miguel Mozo, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene of a car crash in Vista on August 23, and Kevin Luis, 43, passed away after colliding with an out-of-service transit bus in Otay Mesa on August 20. Investigations into these tragic incidents are ongoing by the respective law enforcement agencies.
