
Efforts to rescue potential DUI driver in fatal Long Beach collision.
Residents in Long Beach attempted to help save the life of a man who crashed his car, suspected of driving under the influence, and tragically passed away. The incident took place just before 10:50 p.m., as reported by the Long Beach Police Department, when a 60-year-old Long Beach resident crashed his 2002 Toyota Camry into a tree at Willow Street and Easy Avenue. The driver, the sole occupant, was assisted by nearby residents who tried to provide aid until emergency services arrived. The man was then taken to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire Department paramedics, where he was later pronounced dead. Investigators are looking into alcohol and speed as potential causes of the crash. The driver's identity has not been disclosed pending family notification.
