Driver was speeding without a license after celebrating victim's birthday

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is seeking to apprehend a man who they allege was driving over the speed limit without a valid driver's license, under the influence of alcohol, when he caused a fatal accident in September. The Marion County Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against 28-year-old Emerson Blanc, including reckless homicide, criminal recklessness, and driving without a license resulting in death. Online records indicate there is an active warrant for Blanc's arrest. Blanc was involved in a crash that tragically took the life of 33-year-old Nerline Saint Fleur while they were celebrating her birthday. A witness to the scene, 19-year-old Evelyn Briones, who is a certified nursing assistant, provided assistance by administering chest compressions to Saint Fleur before emergency responders arrived. Investigations revealed Blanc was driving recklessly, with the vehicle exceeding the speed limit just before the collision. Additionally, Blanc did not hold a valid driver's license. Police emphasize the importance of responsible driving behavior and stress that driving is a privilege that requires proper licensing for the safety of everyone on the road. It is also highlighted that bystanders, especially those trained in CPR like Briones, can play a crucial role in assisting during emergencies.
