Driver Pleads Guilty in Vikings Rookie Khyree Jackson's Death
Cori Clingman, the driver accused of causing the tragic car crash that resulted in the deaths of former Minnesota Vikings player Khyree Jackson and two of his high school teammates, has pleaded guilty to three counts of negligent homicide under the influence, as reported by ESPN. Clingman made her plea in a Maryland court on November 7 and is set to be sentenced on February 4, 2026. The accident took place on July 6 in Maryland, claiming the lives of Jackson, Isaiah Hazel, and Anthony Lytton, Jr., with Jackson being only 24 years old. Hazel, who was driving, and Jackson, his passenger, were fatally injured in the collision, while Lytton, seated in the back, later passed away at the hospital. The incident occurred in Upper Marlboro at 3:14 a.m. involving multiple vehicles, with Clingman's silver Infiniti Q50 colliding with Hazel's Dodge Charger. The authorities suspect alcohol may have played a role in the crash. In the aftermath of Jackson's death, the NFL community came together to grieve the loss of the young talent. The Minnesota Twins also paid tribute to Jackson by observing a moment of silence before a game in his honor.
