Driver in Dana Point crash that killed 13-year-old boy was on probation for previous DUI
According to court documents, a 58-year-old man from San Juan Capistrano faces charges in a fatal hit-and-run incident involving a DUI that claimed the life of a 13-year-old boy in Orange County. The man, identified as Bradley Gene Funk, had previous DUI convictions and was on probation during the crash. The tragic event occurred on Tuesday morning near Doheny State Beach, where Funk allegedly hit Luis Adrian Morales-Pacheco. The boy succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital. Funk fled the scene but was located a few miles away with his damaged pickup truck. Public records indicate that Funk had a prior conviction related to driving under the influence and hit-and-run in 2020.
