Driver detained for pedestrian's death in San Juan County
In a recent development, the San Juan County Sheriff's Office has apprehended the driver involved in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the tragic death of pedestrian Alex Shirley. The incident occurred on a county road last week, with Shirley's body discovered the next morning. Through their investigation, SJCSO identified the driver as Alvin Paul, who failed to stop or report the collision. Paul, who had previous DWI charges and was on probation during the incident, faces charges for failing to stop at the scene, driving with a revoked license, not maintaining lane, and careless driving.
