
Driver causes wrong-way crash on I-10 in Phoenix after making U-turn
Late on Sunday night, a wrong-way collision occurred on Interstate 10 near 51st Avenue, resulting in injuries to three individuals. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the incident happened after 10 p.m. when a vehicle made a U-turn on the freeway and began driving west in the eastbound lanes. This led to a collision with two other vehicles. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle, described only as elderly, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, as did the other two drivers involved in the crash. DPS reports that impairment was not a contributing factor, and the driver responsible was issued a citation.
