Driver arrested months after fatal car crash near Belle Glade
A 25-year-old man named Daniel De La Cruz has been arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office months after a car accident resulted in the death of a 19-year-old passenger. The crash occurred last year on November 24th at 29632 State Road 880. Investigators stated that De La Cruz was driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol when the accident took place. De La Cruz was driving in the westbound direction when he veered into the eastbound lanes, causing the car to leave the road, hit an embankment, overturn, and eventually end up in a canal. Unfortunately, the 19-year-old victim, Yoskarlin Batista Leon, was unable to survive. De La Cruz is currently in custody at Palm Beach County Jail, facing one charge of driving without a driver's license leading to death.
