Driver accused in fatal Upstate collision

A man has been taken into custody and accused of being involved in a collision that occurred in Spartanburg County back in July. The incident took place on July 28 at the junction of Gateway Drive and Brockman McClimon Road close to the BMW manufacturing plant. The collision transpired when a 2019 Jeep Wrangler traveling on Brockman McClimon Road crashed into a 2006 Honda sedan while attempting to navigate through the intersection. The Honda was making a left turn onto Gateway Drive. The individual driving the Honda passed away at the location, while the Jeep's driver sustained injuries and was transported to Greer Memorial Hospital. The victim was identified as Lewis Montgomery Reece, a 53-year-old resident of Inman, confirmed by the coroner's office. Authorities declared the arrest of Adam Charles Francis on Wednesday. Francis faces charges of reckless homicide and is scheduled to appear before a judge later today.
