Denver police investigate Friday morning crash involving school bus

A school bus from Cherry Creek Schools was involved in a collision at DTC Boulevard and Union Avenue on Friday morning. Denver police responded to the incident just before 7 a.m., where it was reported that one school bus was in a crash with another vehicle. Fortunately, there were no students on the bus at the time, and the driver of the school bus did not sustain any injuries. Initial findings by Denver police suggest that a black car was attempting to make a left turn and was hit by the school bus traveling straight. It appears that the car did not have a turning signal on. A CBS News Colorado helicopter flew over the location and observed the school bus stopped near a ledge, while the black vehicle displayed front-end damage. The severity of the injuries to the car's driver is currently unknown. Traffic was moving slowly through the intersection as motorists were encouraged to avoid the area to allow for the accident investigation and cleanup.
