
Deadly train crash in North Dakota claims life of 76-year-old man.
A tragic incident occurred in Grand Forks late Saturday night resulting in the fatality of a 76-year-old man after his vehicle was struck by a train. The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported that the collision took place around 10 p.m. in the 1600 block of 17th Avenue NE. The vehicle, a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, got stuck on the railroad tracks and was hit by an eastbound train, dragging the car about 60 feet. Despite the deployment of airbags, the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, lost their life at the scene. The authorities, including the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Grand Forks Sheriff’s Office, Grand Forks Fire Department, and Altru Ambulance Service, responded to the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
