Deadly pedestrian accident in Jasper County
A fatal crash occurred in Jasper County where a pedestrian was struck by a car at the Mulberry Alley and Old House Road intersection. This incident took place around 8:40 p.m. on Monday, October 6th, approximately five miles east of Ridgeland. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that a driver in a 2019 Honda Accord was heading west on Old House Road when a pedestrian suddenly entered the roadway. Unfortunately, the pedestrian passed away at the scene while the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, sustained no injuries. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently investigating the matter.
