Deadly motorcycle accident shuts down major street, 101 Freeway entrance in Hollywood
An inquiry into a tragic accident led to the closure of a significant road in Hollywood and an offramp on the 101 Freeway on Monday morning. The incident involved a single motorcycle crash that occurred at around 4:15 a.m. on the Gower Street offramp from the northbound 101 Freeway, as per the California Highway Patrol. Although the cause of the crash is still being investigated, an officer at the scene suggested that the rider may have lost control due to excessive speed while exiting. The motorcyclist, whose identity is not disclosed, was declared deceased after the collision. A white canopy was seen covering the crash site in video footage. Authorities blocked off North Gower Street between Franklin Avenue and Yucca Street, as well as the 101 Freeway offramp, for the duration of the investigation. These routes were anticipated to reopen by approximately 8 a.m.
