A tragic incident occurred near McCord Bend south of Springfield, resulting in the loss of a Galena woman's life. The driver, a 43-year-old woman, veered across the road, causing her vehicle to overturn when she tried to correct her path, leading to her ejection from the car. Unfortunately, she was declared deceased at the scene. It was reported that she was not using a seat belt at the time of the accident. Her family was informed of the heartbreaking news. This marks the 117th fatality of 2025 as recorded by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
