
Deadly collision on Highway 395 by Kramer Junction in Mojave Desert.
A tragic accident occurred west of Barstow on US Highway 395 resulting in the loss of two lives and leaving one person seriously injured. The collision involved multiple vehicles near Kramer Junction, as reported by the California Highway Patrol on September 2, 2025. The incident, which took place on August 30 around 3:15 p.m. near Alcudia Road, initially involved two vehicles in a head-on collision but later confirmed to involve a total of four vehicles, with one overturning during the crash. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where two individuals were pronounced dead, and one person was transported to a trauma center at Antelope Valley Hospital with major injuries. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office handled coroner's duties, and tow trucks were summoned to remove the severely damaged vehicles, including a Kia Niro. A dog was also rescued from the crash and taken to the Barstow Animal Shelter. U.S. 395 was temporarily closed for the accident response before reopening around 5:05 p.m. The exact cause of the collision is still being investigated.
