
Deadly Car Accident in Santiago Canyon
A vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Santiago Canyon Road and Silverado Canyon Road in Santiago Canyon on September 4, 2025, at around 1:15 PM. Emergency units from the California Highway Patrol and Orange County Fire Authority responded to the scene where they found a three-vehicle collision, one of which was on fire. Unfortunately, there was a fatality, and two adults and a juvenile were taken to a nearby trauma center. A brave individual saved a child from the burning vehicle involved. Santiago Canyon was closed for about two hours for investigation by the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). The incident was handled by the CHP in Santa Ana, and statements were obtained from an officer at the scene and a witness who was on a motorcycle.
