Tragic Accident Claims Life of 22-Year-Old Woman in Van Nuys Crash Involving Red Light Violation A young woman was fatally injured in a collision early Wednesday morning in Van Nuys when her vehicle was struck by a car running a red light at a busy intersection, the authorities reported. The incident occurred on Sept. 3rd at approximately 1:45 a.m. at the corner of Van Nuys and Burbank boulevards, close to a Ralphs supermarket, as per information provided by the Los Angeles Police Department. According to investigators, a Honda Civic driving east along Burbank Boulevard disregarded a red light and collided with the driver’s side of a Mercedes-Benz C300 traveling north on Van Nuys Boulevard. The driver of the Mercedes, a 22-year-old woman who had just completed her work shift and was on her way home, was tragically pronounced dead at the crash site. Emergency services rushed a male passenger in the Honda in his 40s to a hospital in critical condition, stated the Los Angeles Fire Department. Additionally, two other occupants of the Civic, both 25 years old, were also hospitalized - one with serious injuries and the other treated for minor wounds. During the response, another driver breached police barricades and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, revealed LAPD officials. At present, the name of the deceased woman has not been disclosed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office.
